OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION
Message from the Director General
Preserving the Past, Strengthening the Future
Office of the Director General
Walled City of Multan Authority
Multan is a city of remarkable spiritual depth,
architectural character and cultural memory. Its historic streets, sacred shrines, traditional bazaars and neighbourhoods represent generations of human experience.
The Walled City is not simply a place from the past. It remains a
living part of Multan—home to communities, businesses,
traditions and cultural practices that continue to evolve.
Through conservation, research, documentation, public
awareness and responsible tourism, we aim to make Multan’s
heritage more accessible and better understood.
We also recognise that meaningful heritage protection must
involve local communities. The residents, craftspeople, traders,
religious custodians, researchers and cultural practitioners of
Multan remain central to the identity of the historic city.
I invite visitors, students, researchers and citizens to explore
Walled City Multan with curiosity and respect.
Together, we can protect the historic character of the City of
Saints while allowing its culture and communities to continue
thriving.
